Following a 10-month long project in both our UK and Hong Kong facilities, Rebound Electronics are proud to announce we have achieved AS6081 certification.
The AS6081 standard was created in response to significant and increasing volume of fraudulent and counterfeit electronic parts entering the supply chain, specifically in the aerospace industry. Building upon AS9120, it details practices that enable distributors to identify reliable sources, assess and mitigate risk of distributing counterfeit parts and control and report suspected or confirmed counterfeit or fraudulent parts.
The standard is specifically beneficial to clients who are working with safety-critical applications, or dealing with hard-to-find and obsolete components where the risk of counterfeit is much higher.
Chris Holder, Group Quality Compliance Manager, who helped to facilitate the audit in both the UK and Hong Kong, comments:
‘Having AS6081 is a massive achievement for Rebound Electronics, AS6081 testing will help Rebound to deliver obsolete components and increase customer satisfaction and confidence in our inspection and testing capability to ensure product authenticity. Great work to all who helped Rebound achieve this.’
Rebound are continuously investing in our in-house enhanced inspection and testing capabilities at both our 23,302 sq. ft UK and 6,000 sq. ft Hong Kong distribution hubs. We are equipped with the latest state of the art testing equipment including the Abi Sentry counterfeit IC detector, Must3 System solderability tester and RKD chemical decapsulation. Alongside this, we are committed to providing the highest standard of on-going training programmes for our staff and quality inspectors.
Warehouse and Logistics Manager, Cindy Chan, based in Hong Kong, comments:
‘It’s a fantastic achievement for myself and the team, being granted AS6081 certificate of recognition. I’m very happy with this positive outcome and appreciate the team for their performance in approaching such a complex task. It’s important to all of us for stepping up to reach this milestone in our warehouse. In addition, our aims to ensure the integrity of electronic components to fulfil our clients’ needs as priority.’
AS6081 is major advancement to ensure that our clients are consistently receiving the best possible service, from a global trusted partner to secure reliable stock to future-proof your supply chain. As a company we continue to strive to develop our capabilities and skills in an ever-growing and ever-changing industry.
