Rebound at EPTECH Vancouver: Strengthening Connections and Showcasing Solutions

Rebound had the pleasure of exhibiting at EPTECH Vancouver, a key event in Canada’s electronics industry calendar. The tradeshow brought together engineers, buyers, and decision-makers to explore new technologies, discuss market challenges, and forge meaningful partnerships. For us, it was a great opportunity to connect with our customers on the West Coast to discuss solutions to the challenges they are currently facing within the market.

Why EPTECH Vancouver?

Our main objective in attending EPTECH Vancouver was to engage with our existing customers face-to-face, initiate conversations with new prospects, and reinforce our presence in the Canadian market. With a solid customer base in the region, it was essential for us to be on the ground, sharing real-time market insights, whether on price fluctuations, part obsolescence, or global supply chain challenges.

Beyond the exhibition, we extended our stay to visit customers in the area. The hospitality we received was outstanding, and the face-to-face meetings provided invaluable context to the conversations we typically have over the phone or teams.

The Exhibition Experience

Engaging with other exhibitors and attendees gave us deeper insight into the pain points affecting the industry, from supply shortages to rising component costs. These open conversations allowed Rebound to do what we do best, offer tailored, global solutions that help customers navigate complex supply chain scenarios.

In-person meetings allowed us to pick up on nuances that virtual calls often miss, making it easier to understand each customer’s needs on a more personal level.

Key Topics and Concerns

Across many conversations, several recurring themes stood out:

  • Price Increases: Companies are scrutinising their budgets, trying to reduce costs amid frequent pricing shifts from manufacturers. Many expressed concerns about quarterly price hikes and the uncertainty this brings.
  • Single-Sourced Components: Engineers and procurement professionals are actively seeking alternatives to avoid being locked into vulnerable supply chains. This opened dialogue around our Nuvonix franchised distribution offering, which provides direct drop-in replacement components that tend to be more accessible and at a lower cost.
  • Obsolescence and Risk Mitigation: With EOL notifications and global disruptions on the rise, many attendees appreciated the importance of having second-source options and obsolescence solutions to ensure continuity.

Rebound Services That Stood Out

Several Rebound services resonated strongly with attendees:

  • Flexible Component Scheduling & Blanket Orders: Customers valued the ability to secure and store stock in our warehouse, to lock-in pricing.
  • PPV: Our ability to source globally was a major talking point. The team’s safe and strategic sourcing practices deliver competitive pricing that customers can trust.
  • Nuvonix Solutions: Attendees were keen to learn more about our cost-effective alternatives and second-source strategies especially in an environment where risk mitigation is key.

Industry Trends: Tariffs, EV, and AI

While many topics were discussed, tariffs emerged as a primary concern, particularly in light of ongoing trade uncertainties between the U.S. and Canada. Customers expressed frustration with the lack of clarity, and we were glad to share how our global logistics network including warehouses in the UK and Hong Kong can offer alternative routes to supplying Canada efficiently and cost-effectively.

Though conversations around AI and EV technologies surfaced, the primary focus remained on supply chain stability and pricing strategy.

A Green Touch That Made a Big Impact

Our booth also drew attention for a different reason, our eco-friendly merchandise. From basil pencils to biodegradable herb bundles and bags made from recycled materials, our sustainable giveaways sparked conversations. Many attendees, including fellow exhibitors, mentioned they had never seen merch quite like ours. It was a fun and impactful way to demonstrate Rebound’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

Looking Ahead

Our time at EPTECH Vancouver reinforced just how valuable it is to show up not just virtually, but in person to connect, listen, and collaborate. We left with renewed insight, stronger relationships, and excitement for the future of electronics in Canada and beyond.

To all who visited our booth and spent time with our team thank you. We’re looking forward to continuing these conversations and growing together. For those who missed us, we’ll be exhibiting at EPTECH in Calgary and Edmonton later in the year.
