What happens when components go end of life in aerospace?
Obsolescence in aerospace rarely arrives as a shock, yet it almost always lands as a disruption. A component reaches end…
We at Rebound Electronics are pleased to announce that we have been successfully re-certified to the AS9120 standard. In further demonstration of our commitment to quality, this re-certification also includes a Change to Approval, which incorporates our Monchengladbach office in Germany.
Since we first received the AS9120 certification in 2011, and our SC21 Silver awards (2012 & 2013) we have been working to constantly refine and improve our process and business systems, with emphasis on quality and traceability. We have improved all areas of our business significantly over the last 3 years including process control, business systems, internal operations, management and supply chain.
Sheila Lord, the Group Materials & Quality Manager, explains why this work is so important to Rebound:
“As part of our commitment to quality, we are constantly evaluating and streamlining many elements of our Hybrid Distribution operations to ensure we deliver world-class customer service and quality levels. We have been working on AS9120 re-certification since January 2014, analysing various areas including traceability on sources of supply, improving the efficiency of our internal systems and procedures as well as internal training for our team. The addition of the GMBH office to the AS9120 accreditation further underpins the quality message throughout the Rebound Group, and strengthens our commitment to delivering high standards that the industry, and our customers, expect”.
Ensuring that we remain committed to the development and improvement of our people and our processes will help to maintain our drive towards lowering customer RMA rates still further and delivering real value to our customers”.
AS9120 certification is the standard for the distributors to the aerospace industry, which by its very nature demands high reliability and quality. It is a highly respected standard and incorporates all the elements of ISO 9001, providing assurance to the aerospace customer that the distributor has ensured all products and components are properly sourced and tracked.
