Computing Division Buyer – Boston, U.S.

Job Purpose Summary:Â
Buyer to play a key role in sourcing products, developing supplier relationships, and supporting the growth of our customer base within the global electronics market.
You will be responsible for identifying and securing inventory that meets customer demand, negotiating competitive pricing and commercial terms, and developing new supply channels. The role requires someone who can move quickly, recognise market opportunities, and make commercially sound decisions in a fast-paced trading environment.
Working closely with Sales, Product Management, Operations, and our international offices, you will provide real-time market intelligence on pricing, availability, lead times, supply trends, and emerging opportunities.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Source electronic components, computer hardware, and related products based on active customer requirements and market demand.
- Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with manufacturers, distributors, brokers, resellers, and other supply partners.
- Negotiate purchase prices, payment terms, lead times, quantities, and other commercial conditions to maximise profitability.
- Identify new suppliers and alternative sources to improve product availability, pricing, and overall competitiveness.
- Monitor market conditions and communicate changes in pricing, supply, lead times, shortages, and product trends to Sales and Product Management.
- Work closely with Sales to identify opportunities and secure inventory that supports confirmed customer requirements.
- Research and pursue opportunities involving excess, surplus, allocated, obsolete, and end-of-life inventory.
- Identify potential trading opportunities before they become widely available in the market.
Requirements:Â
- Experience or strong knowledge of the electronic components, semiconductor, computing, or hardware industry preferred.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, distribution, sales, trading, sourcing, or supply-chain environments is highly valued.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand pricing, margins, supply, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Highly motivated, ambitious, and results-oriented.
- Comfortable working in a competitive, fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build credibility and establish long-term relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

- Ability to manage multiple RFQs, suppliers, orders, and deadlines simultaneously.

- Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and other sourcing or market-data platforms is a plus.
