Technical Buyer – Europe & North America

Are you a skilled negotiator with a keen eye for detail and a passion for finding the right products? Rebound is seeking a dedicated Buyer to join and help us grow our Niche and Indirect business division. In this role, you will be crucial in expanding our product offerings and strengthening our supplier relationships by sourcing unique and specialised items, ensuring exceptional customer service, and contributing directly to our company’s revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and secure specialised (niche) and operational (indirect) products and services that support our business goals and sales activities.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse base of suppliers, ensuring they meet our quality and delivery standards.
  • Negotiation & Contracts: Skilfully negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to achieve the best value for the company while maintaining strong supplier partnerships.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various internal teams and business units to understand their needs and develop best-in-class product offerings.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance, resolve any quality or delivery issues, and ensure accurate procurement records.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, new technologies, and emerging supplier capabilities to proactively identify opportunities.
  • Compliance & Projects: Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to company policies and industry regulations. Lead or support special projects to enhance our supply chain and service capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing or maintenance environment. Sales Organisation experience is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to understand basic technical product requirements and translate business needs into sourcing strategies.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Multi-commodity experience, i.e. electronic, electrical, automation, mechanical, MRO etc.
  • Exposure to multi-channel sourcing, i.e. open market, manufacturers and distributors.
  • Experience in finding new suppliers and trade terms negotiations.
  • Strong stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
